Sean Rice and Maura Evelyn star in a pandemic photoshoot for Venn

Venn creator Tyler here.

I think of these stunning shots by Sean Rice and modeled by the graceful Maura Evelyn as a preview to the future movie of Venn. I’m thrilled to work with such talented creative people because I feel them bring imagination to life. My inspiration is renewed and expanded and the emotions I feel are powerful when I look at these images and dream of the future of Venn.  I dream of my future home and all the Air Chairs, Sitting Cushions, Floor Pads, and future creations I’ll have spread around. I think about guests and parties and how we all want spaces that are inviting and comfortable and fun. I’d be thrilled if you are inspired to move your body too and follow along as we build beautiful furniture and home goods that encourage regular movement for everyday life.

Like everyone else we’ve had to do things very differently as a result of Covid. I was unable to join Sean and Maura in Los Angeles for the photoshoot, though we utilized video conferencing admirably and efficiently. A busy day of scene and outfit changes kept us all task oriented and in the moment. Sean’s scene pre-planning was perfect and Maura embodied poise and playfulness.

Weeks and months later as Sarah and I have gone over the Venn website and reworked the main pages everyone sees, we used this Los Angeles photoshoot to tell the story of Venn. There will be more coming in time, and I hope you have your imagination piqued by our first release of media.

When I cast my mind wide and think of society or history, I believe we are at the beginning of an awakening: how to take care of our bodies. I believe many of us are still learning what the correct shape of our body is – myself included! As I continue to train my own body and focus on lifting internally with more power and skill, I look at myself in the mirror and see my everyday posture has gradually shifted and improved. “Hmm… so that’s what I look like now?” The more I align my skeletal structure and nervous system with gravity pulling me straight down, and me lifting straight up against it, I continue to see my muscles change in shape and position, and even feel my bones settling into new skeletal alignment. It is satisfying noticing I am slowly improving my less-skilled left side, which is in turn improving my symmetry. But it is assuredly strange to become a new shape, at least it feels that way to me.

I want to help all of you learn to see your own internal symmetry and feel inspired to improve it. Straightening myself has been one of the most rewarding efforts of my life and I continue to practice on a daily basis. The vitality you feel while working to improve your symmetry will surprise and delight you.

The future of offices does not look like rows of cubicles beside each other. Video conferencing works well for business as we’ve all now proven to ourselves, forever changing the future of commuting. Variable height desk surfaces, lifted posture and balance-required sitting options, soft surfaces that accommodate kneeling, circadian lights to assist daily energy rhythms, blood sugar, and sleep patterns, a container of fresh water, clean, moving air, textured surfaces and floor tools – these are all elements of the future home and office that makes your body physically powerful and filled with all-day energy, aligned geometrically with gravity, and present, in the moment.

Send us a message – I’d love to help you rethink your home and office and how good your body can feel throughout the day.
